Composer, professor, and musical guru Anthony Braxton is one of Spruce’s oldest clients. Yes, People Still Buy CDs
We helped with the full package here, from CD box to disc design to booklet fonts and layout. We’ve got our grubby little paw prints on every page, and we’re thrilled with the result. Braxton’s visual aesthetic lands somewhere between the scribbles of a quirky kindergardener and the out of this world proclivities of an even weirder Sun Ra. Needless to say, we fit right in.
If we were raised with this in mind as the normal paradigm for opera, we might have paid a bit more attention in music class. The booklet is packed with libretto text, score reproductions, full page photographs, and musician information. It was a wonderful challenge to fit it all in, but we couldn’t be more proud of the result.
