The RateMyHospital application by Quality Reviews is a perfect example of a simple concept executed gracefully in a field otherwise cluttered with legacy software, slow response times, and poor internal feedback. While the aspects of medical technology that relate directly to disease prevention have made leaps and bounds over the past few decades, the qualitative aspects of patient satisfaction have been subject to relative neglect. RateMyHospital is part of a new wave of applications (see Cureatr) that provide hospital administrators with better tools and information to raise the quality of care their patients are receiving.
Spruce is serving as the dedicated development team for Quality Reviews during its MVP and V1 stages. We’ve provided them with development services on their corporate website, mobile web application, and desktop analytics platform. The entire system is HIPAA secure, and has undergone compliance audits by two third-party agencies. The software is packaged as a turnkey solution that can be deployed to new hospitals in a single fluid process, and is scalable up to millions of daily submissions. Statistics are updated in realtime as the system receives data from each hospital, and patients are notified via SMS when invited to participate in a quality of care survey. Dashboard features include dynamic chart generation, user access levels, drag & drop question re-ordering, and in-place AJAX question editing capabilities. Submission data can be filtered by gender, insurance provider, or date submitted, and administrators can print or share detailed reports with colleagues.
